Well, I did not, literally speaking. But in school, I did have this H W Longfellow piece as one of my favourite songs;
I shot an Arrow into the air
It fell to earth I know not where,
For so swiftly it flew, the sight
Could not follow it in its flight.
I breath’d a Song into the air
It fell to earth, I know not where.
For who has sight so keen and strong
That it can follow the flight of a song?
Long, long afterward in an oak
I found the Arrow still unbroke;
And the Song from begining to end
I found again in the heart of a friend.
Well, more than three decades ago, I lived in a state where I picked up a new language and a bunch of hit songs in that language. The language I lost from disuse, but I kept breathing a few of those songs into the air. Today I located a long-lost friend, and asked him for those songs, and he found me the song – from beginning to end! Glory be to the net!
